Get A Summertime Glow Without The Burn

If you are fair skinned and burn easily but would still like to have that Bronze Glow there is a safe healthy way to achieve what you are looking for.

Many Bodybuilders also use sunless tanning products to enhance their appearance for competitions. Regardless of your reason for if you want that beach body look you want to do it correctly.

If you do it right they will give your skin a beautiful, healthy glow. Your body will look like you just came back from the beach, but your skin will be healthy and without damage from the sun's rays. There are several tips and tricks to apply sunless tanning products. Here are some ideas for getting an even, streak free tan. It’s not hard but it does require a little preparation.

The best way to start is to scrub your entire body to get rid of any loose skin. Take care of extra dry areas like your knees and elbows. It is best to exfoliate the day before you apply the sunless tanning lotion but it’s not mandatory. Just be sure all the scrub is washed off, and there is no oily residue left on the skin from any other soaps or lotions. This is one reason you get streaks or patches. If you have sensitive skin you may want to avoid shaving your legs just prior to applying the lotion.

Always wear gloves, so you don’t stain your hands. If you don’t want to wear gloves be sure to wash your hands really well after you finish. Using gloves will keep the palms of your hands stain free. Tight fitting disposable gloves are best. You may have difficulty applying your tan evenly if your gloves do not fit well. Another tip is to use a sponge applicator for hard to reach areas.

Next put the lotion on in sections to make the application process easier. Start at your legs and work your way up. Applying sunless tanning lotion in small sections will help avoid streaking and missing any areas.

A little lotion goes a long way. Once you get started with the application process, you will have a better idea of how much lotion you need for each section. Start by putting a small amount in the palms of your hands and rub your hands together. You can always add more lotion, but extra lotion left on the skin can leave streaks or dark splotchy areas. It is best to spread it on the skin and let it thoroughly dry. Apply the lotion quickly but thoroughly, in a circular motion.

If you don’t have someone help you with your backside, use a sponge on a stick to get to the hard to reach places. Do the backs of your hands last. Be sure to wash off any extra lotion left behind from the gloves and stay away from your palms and the bottoms of your feet. When tanning the face, it is recommended to use a sunless tanning lotion made especially for the face. These products are gentler alternatives to sunless lotions for the body.

Use a damp towel or sponge to wipe off any excess lotion from your skin. Also, use a damp towel to wipe off areas of the skin that do not normally achieve a dark tan naturally. These areas include the soles of the feet, the underside of the wrists, the under arm area, the palms of the hands, ankles, etc. Be sure to wipe off any excess lotion from dry skin areas such as the knees and elbows. Doing this will help you achieve a dark, even, natural looking tan.

You get the best results if you wait until you skin is completely dry before getting dressed. It takes about fifteen minutes or so. Another tip is to wear looser clothes for a few hours to let the lotion completely absorb into the skin and dry, and try not to work up a sweat for about an hour.

Reapply the sunless tanning lotion as needed to achieve your desired shade of tan. If applied several times over several days, your tan will be darker. The typical sunless tan will last about 5 to 7 days before it begins to fade. Just reapply to maintain, or increase, your desired level of color.

Sunless tanning products can give your skin a beautiful, flawless tan when applied correctly. You too can have that sun drenched healthy glow, without any damage from harmful ultra violet rays. Have that summertime look for any season of the year.
