10 Excuses For Dieters And Solutions

I was browsing diet and fitness and came across an article by Jillian Michaels. It was interesting to read things that I have said as well as my friends and family. I found some new motivation to not let myself off the hook when I feel like eating junk food or skipping your workout.

I have to get into the mindset that Failure is not an option any longer so I have to just suck it up and change the bad habits I have fallen into.

Changing a habit is like trying to launch a rocket into outer space. It is really hard breaking out of the atmosphere but once you do things get a whole lot easier.

Here is my take on some common excuses for not being able to work out or lose weight and some motivation to get back on track.

Excuse: "I don't have time to work out."

If it’s important enough you will make the time. If I have time to sit on the couch and watch TV, I can find a way to make my health a priority also. I can schedule my workouts like another appointment. I could get up a little earlier and do a fitness DVD. There is time on the weekends. I have a treadmill I could do 30 minutes on while unwinding and watching "The Tube." Actually I must make the time for me. The benefits outweigh the cost. I’ll have more energy, better overall health, and better self esteem so it’s worth it.

Excuse: "I have to keep junk food around for my family and/or significant other."

Wrong … They shouldn't be eating that stuff either!

Excuse: "I've tried to lose weight before, but I just can't do it."

I have told my kids you can do anything with enough time and the proper motivation. So I need to practice what I preach. I need to learn more about how to work out properly. Learn about calories and how many are in the foods I eat and how many your body burns naturally each day. Understanding is the issues and knowledge empowers you to make choices that create life changes. The next time I am about to say, "I can't," I’ll ask instead, "How can I not?"

Excuse: "I have too many business dinners and social gatherings. I can't lose weight in that environment!"

Really no one notices if I pass up the fatty appetizers, or the open bar. I find that when I am at a business dinner they go better when I am not drinking. If I go to a dinner party, I can always bring something healthy with me. That way you'll know there is at least one healthy thing to eat. Another good idea for not offending people, is not to go on a crusade about eating habits; just say "no thank you" to the unhealthy stuff.

Excuse: "I travel a lot and can't get into a routine."

I could if I wanted to. I can buy healthier snacks when I am out of town, stay at hotels with gyms, take fitness DVDs and do them before bed in your hotel room. When I eat out I can order my food grilled or baked, and get the dressings and sauces on the side, pass on the starchy sides and get steamed veggies. If I can do it, so can you.

Excuse: "My friends eat poorly and it makes it hard for me to eat healthy."

That is true but I can tell my family and friends what I am trying to accomplish and let them know exactly how to support me without getting self righteous about it. The only way they are going to know what I need and how to give it is if I tell them. I need to ask them to eat healthy with me, but if they can't do it, just don’t push food on me or ask if I want a bite.

Excuse: "My family nags me about my weight and it makes me want to rebel."

This is like the friends who push bad eating habits. Once I tell them, if the family still nags, I need to set boundaries. My weight and fitness habits are simply not up for discussion, and I won’t discuss events or things that trigger them to start in on you.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. When I started my diet regimen I wanted to get a good jump on dropping the extra pounds so I went online and found a weight loss supplement called STG Acai Berry that I believe helped me to burn fat more efficiently.
I didn’t seem to feel like I was starving to death when I cut down on my portion sizes, and I lost about 15 pounds in the first 4 weeks, so I was happy about that. If you are looking for for diet or any other type of supplement try SupplementsTogo.Com They had low prices on all their supplements which made it more affordable for me to reach my fitness goals.
